A Colorado Gems card is worth the ten bucks as you’ll get some great deals at some very easily accessible resorts. Now, the Colorado Gems card is even easier to purchase, as you can pick one up at any Credit Union of Colorado location. There are 15 across the state. Colorado Ski Country USA issues the cards, in partnership with the Credit Union.
The Credit Union’s website is even offering a contest. Check in through their website for a chance to win a ski package worth more than $1,000. It includes a pair of Colorado-made Icelantic skis and some other ski gear. You must register by Jan. 4, 2013.
The Colorado Gems card provides discounts and deals at eight of Colorado’s ski areas. It costs $10. The Gems areas are Arapahoe Basin, Eldora, Loveland, Monarch, Powderhorn, Ski Cooper, Ski Granby Ranch, and Sunlight Mountain. Many of these resorts are smaller and a little bit removed from the major highways and big resorts. They have easy parking and a main base area. It’s a good place to go with your family.
There are some blackouts and restrictions with the Colorado Gems card. Those restrictions are mainly over the major holidays and spring break season. But there is still many opportunities to sneak up to the mountains sometime during the week, or on weekends. You’re sure to find plenty of deals during the season.
