First chair for the 2012/2013 ski season at Mammoth Mountain is set for Thursday, November 8th at 8:30 a.m, and to celebrate, there is a jam packed schedule of events to kick off the season right.

On Thursday, November 8, there will be a champagne toast on the Main Lodge Sundeck at 11 a.m and live music by Eastside Five at 11:30 a.m. At 7 p.m, Standard Films will premiere their new movie 2112 in The Village. Volcom VIP Reception will take place at Sushi Rei at 8 pm.

Both Friday and Saturday, DJ Matty Mo will be spinning in the Main Park Gondola DJ Booth starting at 10 a.m. Also on Friday, McCoy Sports and DJ Slipmatt will host a Fashion Open House between 5 and 7 p.m. Also at 5 p.m, a Pop-Up Art Show by Corey Smith will take place at the Grand Sierra Lodge in The Village. Oakley will present the movie Horgasm – A Love Story in The Village at 7 p.m. “Winterfest 2012” will kick-off at 9 p.m with Blondfire and LA Riots at Eagle Lodge. Cost for the concert is $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the show.

A new feature will be unveiled in Main Park on Saturday at noon, followed by Outride by mophie Insta-Jam Pop-up Rail Contest at 12:30 p.m. Another Fashion Open House will take place that evening between 5 and 7 p.m at Quiksilver, again with DJ Slippatt. At 7 p.m, Burton will present their new movie, 13, in The Village. After that will be “Carnivale” at 9 p.m featuring Sex Panther and The RZA and the unveiling of Unbound Magazine Vol. 3 at Canyon Lodge. Tickets for that show are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of.
