The Best Ski and Snowboard Helmets to Protect your Head this Winter: POC Fornix

2013 POC Fornix Helmet

POC Fornix

Specs

$160

POC built the new Fornix with patent pending Aramid ballistic penetration barrier (APB) which absorbs and disperses the energy from impacts throughout the helmet. Strands of Aramid within the helmet's expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) increase the structural stability of the Fornix and keep it light. Fornix includes a venting system with six adjustable top vents, two front vents, two rear vents and goggle vents that quickly and efficiently draw hot air and sweat vapor away from the head and keep goggles free of fog. The helmet's turn-ring size adjustment system provides a comfortable, snug fit, and a goggle clip prevents goggle slippage. Integrated ear pads protect ears and block wind.
