Snowshoe got more than a foot of snow from Hurricane Sandy. There's not a ton of snow in the forecast for this weekend, but snow is on the way next week.

The past two weeks brought significant snowfall to small regions on each coast. Last week, an early season storm train slammed into the Sierra Nevadas, dropping two to three feet on a few Lake Tahoe resorts. Then just this past week, while Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on much of the east, it also dumped a couple feet of snow in West Virginia, giving resorts like Snowshoe reason to be optimistic about the upcoming ski season.
