Northstar is the Far West winner for the 2012 OnTheSnow Visitors' Choice Award for Best Park and Pipe. Thanks to a 22-foot superpipe designed by Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White, seven terrain parks for varying skill levels, and the inclusion of Kids Adventure Parks to assist younger skiers and riders to progress their freestyle skills. With a full lineup of Park events lined up for the 2012/2013 season and a wide variety of park, pipes and features, Northstar is the clear choice for Best Park and Pipe in the West.
PARK & PIPE EVENTS FOR 2012/2013: The U.S Revolution Tour, in its 9th season, is a tour made up of halfpipe, slopestyle and skier/boarder cross competitions. The tour stops at Northstar this year from Jan. 13 – Jan. 18, 2013. Northstar will also host a variety of rail jams and competitions throughout the season.
LEARNING/PROGRESSION PARKS: Young aspiring jibbers and terrain park junkies can explore Northstar’s Adventure Parks, full of rollers, bumps and gullies or utilize the Burton Progression Park to introduce themselves to freestyle terrain. They can also head to the Lil’ Stash, a smaller version of Northstar’s all-natural Burton The Stash terrain park.
ADVANCED TO EXPERT PARKS & PIPES: Expert park skiers and riders should test their mettle in the Pinball terrain park. There you’ll find a wide variety of jibs, jumps and other features. The big attraction in the park and pipe scene at Northstar is the 22-Foot Superpipe by Shaun White. 2-Time Olympic Gold Medalist and 5-Time X-Games Superpipe Champion Shaun White helped to design this behemoth of a pipe, where skiers and riders can go to truly challenge themselves.
