Mt. Norquay Kicks Off Ski Season in Canada Oct. 25

24th October 2012 | Donny O'Neill

Mt. Norquay will open for skiing and riding on Oct. 25.

Last year, Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine set snowfall records, and this year they've set another record. Mt. Norquay will open tomorrow, Oct. 25, 2012, marking the earliest opening in the resort's history. Mt. Norquay will be the first resort to open in Canada, thanks to 30 cm of natural and manmade snow on the slopes.

Mt. Norquay will open for skiing and snowboarding at 12 p.m. tomorrow, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Friday to Sunday as well.

The other members of The SkiBig3 family, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise, will open soon thereafter on Nov. 9. Skiers and riders who frequent the Banff National Park ski areas have to be excited about this early opening.
