For the majority of North America, the Pacific Northwest excluded, the 2011-2012 ski season was a struggle. Low snowfall totals and soaring temperatures put a damper on a season that many hoped would be as epic as 2010-2011. It's been a long summer for the ski and snowboard community, with record high temperatures causing the cravings for winter to be that much more intense.
