GoPro made a splash in San Francisco last night as they announced their newest camera—the Hero3. Boasting a lighter body and more powerful video capabilities the top-of-the-line Black Edition can shoot 4k video and also record 1080p at 60 fps, meaning we will probably see even more slow motion in GoPro edits this season.

However don't get too excited, the 4k video only shoots at 12 fps so it still has a long way to go to compete with other 4k cameras, but the bar has been raised and it's bound to only get higher. While we haven't got our hands on one yet, the preview video GoPro launched is nothing short of spectacular.
