A blizzard hit Scotland's CairnGorm Mountain on Monday night bringing snow to the region's largest ski resort.
The early dusting of snow above 750 metres gave visitors enough to have snowball fights in the car park at the foot of the funicular railway. Further up the mountain at the top station there was 2.5cm of snow.
CairnGorm marketing manager Colin Kirkwood told STV; "CairnGorm marketing manager Colin Kirkwood said: "It is not unusual for there to be some snow at this time of year although it was probably not what half term visitors were expecting.
“The younger ones seem particularly delighted with it and it is an added attraction for those going on our guided walks from the top station.
“It is also a timely reminder to our snowsports customers in the run up to Scotland's Ski and Snowboard show in Glasgow this weekend to start making their preparations for the coming season. We hope this early snow augurs well for this season."
