Living the Ski Bum lifestyle is a common dream among skiers, but isn’t always the most practical. Columbia’s Ski Bum Scholarship wants to change that and help you realize your ski bum dreams.

The program covers airfare to and from Colorado, 90-days worth of paid rent in a Dillon, Colo. condo, a season pass, four-wheel-drive rental car and daily food rations. The season pass combines Colorado’s most-popular pass options, providing access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Steamboat, Winter Park and A-Basin.

Those on the fence can partake in Columbia’s S.B.A.T (Ski Bum Aptitude Test) to make sure they’re ready to enter into such a prestigious scholarship program. Candidates must provide a short video essay, Columbia looks favorably upon humorous entries but isn't opposed to those that are serious, to be uploaded to YouTube. Applications are being accepted through Dec. 8, 2012 and the winner will be announced in mid-December.

The Grand Prize winner will only be asked to provide two updates per week through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Columbia even offers something for those who fail to win the grand prize, with ten contestants receiving $200 towards Columbia outdoor gear.
