Obergurgl, always one of the first alpine ski resorts to open, is set to kick off the winter season Nov. 15. To mark the occassion the resort is hosting a fun-packed 11 days of live music, family activities and reduced ski passes. Reduced ski pass rates are valid Nov. 15-25 where all adults pay senior rates.

Thursday, Nov. 15: Bayern 1 Opening Party at Winter Palace from 9 pm featuring Hot Sausage - a Beatles cover band- and it's free admission.

Friday, Nov. 16: Après ski with live music at Nederhütte from 4 pm; Sledding party and night tobogganing with live music on the new three-kilometre natural sled in Hochgurgl, 7.30 pm - 10.30 pm Bayern 1 Opening Party at "Winter Palace" from 9 pm featuring Life Brothers Four Admission fee: € 8

Saturday, Nov. 17: Musical Hut Rally with live music on the mountain huts, Hohe Mut Alm, Top Mountain Star from 1 pm and après ski at Nederhütte from 4 pm; Bayern 1 Opening Party at "Winter Palace" from 9.00 pm featuring Bayern 1 Band and Los Dos Compagneros salsa group. Admission fee: €8.

Wednesday, Nov. 21: Snowshoe hiking tour to the Stone Pine Forest nature treasure and rest stop at Davids Hütte. Meeting place: ski school, 8.30 pm (Free of charge).

Thursday, Nov. 22: Ice curling tournament at the Kressbrunnen ice rink from 8.30 pm (free of charge).

Friday, Nov. 23: Sledding party and night tobogganing with live music on the new 3km natural sled run in Hochgurgl, 7.30 pm - 10.30 pm; Après ski with live music at Nederhütte from 4.00 pm; Bayern 1 Opening Party at "Winter Palace" from 9 pm featuring the Bavarian top band Blechblos'n. Admission fee: €8.
