Those who want a transferrable pass

Most ski passes are non-transferrable picture passes, and carry steep repurcussions for anyone caught sharing them among friends. The Colorado Ski Country USA Gold Pass and Steamboat Silver Medallion offer one of those rare opportunities in the ski world where you can share your pass with anyone.

The Gold Pass is offered by Colorado Ski Country USA and gets you on the snow at 21 of Colorado's resorts, all season long. It’s like a gold medal that you wear around your neck, with a bar code attached to the back for easy scanning.

The Gold Pass is $3000, and it’s transferrable. Share it with your friends, co-workers, family, or clients; buy one for your condominium and use it as a bargaining tool for potential renters.

Steamboat offers the Silver Medallion. The pass is only valid at Steamboat but features the same benefits of the Gold Pass. The pass is transferrable and good for one person per pass per day this coming season. Mike Lane, Steamboat's Public Relations Director says the Silver Medallion provides convenience, flexibility, and transferability (no blackout dates). “As a company that wants to offer skiing/riding privileges every day, it’s a great option.”

The Silver Medallion is new this year and offers passholders a First Tracks Pass as well. Those with a First Tracks pass get to load the gondola a half hour earlier than anyone else in line, and is valid for intermediate/expert skiers and snowbaorders only. The cost of a Silver Medallion is $3,999.
