The Mt. Hood Fusion Pass is back on sale. For Portland area skiers and riders, that’s good news as the pass gives access to skiing and riding at two Mt. Hood resorts and is valid for a long season that starts in October and runs into May.
The Fusion Pass gets you on the lifts at Mt. Hood Skibowl and Timberline Lodge. It has no blackout dates, so you can use it any day of the season, including holidays. It also is good as soon as Timberline opens for fall skiing on the Palmer Snowfield. The opening date is tentatively set for Oct. 5, 2012, and Palmer Lift runs Fridays through Sundays, weather permitting.
The sale for the Fusion Pass runs through early November, although you can get the best rates by purchasing the pass by Sept. 30, 2012 at the same price as last year. After September, the rates increase by only $5-20 from Oct. 1-Nov. 4. After Nov. 4, pass prices increase by $165-180.
Adults can purchase the Fusion Pass for $475 in September, $495 until Nov. 4, and $675 after that. Teens can buy the pass for $365 in September, $380 until Nov. 4, when the price goes up to $575. For juniors and seniors, the pass costs $255 in September, $260 until Nov. 4, and then $425 for the rest of the season.
This year, the resorts have added a Refund Protection Plan in case unforeseen circumstances cause you be unable to use it. The plan costs $25, but be sure to read all stipulations about refunds.
Fusion Passes come with perks, too. Passholders can get discounts on lessons, rentals, tunes, retail and more. The Fusion Bus is scheduled to run again, but details won’t be available until later this fall.
This fall, the Fusion Bus will be touring Portland, landing in more than 20 locations—many of them ski and snowboard shops or Subaru dealerships. You can buy and pick up the Fusion Pass on board as well as watch ski movies on the flat screen TV inside while you wait. You can also sign up online to win a chance for the van to drive to your house, so you can buy your pass.
The easiest way to get the Fusion Pass is to buy it online here. You’ll also find more information as well as the location schedule for the Fusion Van this fall. You can also call the resorts if you have more questions. Call Timberline at 503-272-3158 and Skibowl at 503-222-2695.
