The Altitude Festival returns to Meribel with its live stand-up comedy, international DJs, and slope-style competitions. The festival runs from March 28 to April 3, 2009 and has been hailed by the British Ski Club as "The biggest and most successful comedy festival in the Alps."

There are also plenty of free and ticketed music gigs in Meribel's lively bars and ski and snowboarding competitions, including big air, boarder-cross, slope-style, classic GS, as well as snowball fights, skydiving displays, and three-legged races.

Another popular activity in Meribel this season is Moon Camp. A week of freestyle lessons, plus full board, and ski pass is offered at Moon Camp for €785, which takes place from March 21 to 28 and March 28 and April 4.

Meribel lies at the heart of the Three Valleys, the world's biggest ski area with 375 miles of runs. The resort itself has 94 miles of runs, including: nine black, 23 red, 36 blue, and eight green. Meribel is internationally known with two Olympic runs and two slalom stadiums.

The ski slopes are linked by 15 high-capacity gondolas, 19 chairlifts, 14 drags, and eight telebabies. Pistes enjoy reliable snow cover, but also benefit from 685 snow cannons.
