Extension Added To Leukerbad's Alpine Thermal Spa

First Xtube tyre slide in Burgerbad Therme First Xtube tyre slide in Burgerbad Therme

The largest thermal spa in the Alps has undergone an extension. The Burgerbad Therme in Leukerbad now has a 14-metre-high slide, which opened on Dec.14, 2008.

This is the first x-tube tyre slide in Switzerland and offers impressive views. The existing 70-metre-long tube slide was extended to 120 metres and equipped with two 360-degree twists. The slide tower runs down into a landing pool with a weatherproof interior.

The use of the slide is possible with one and two-seater wide-base tyres as well as without tyres. The entire upper level of the Burgerbad provides an extensive range of active sports activities, including a volleyball court and table tennis.

The spa offers a 25-metre sports pool, a children's play pool, 10 thermal baths, springs, waterfall showers, massage jets, whirlpools, a natural rock grotto, and a wide range of pampering spa treatments and massages. Burgerbad Therme is open between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily. Food and drink is available at the onsite restaurant, with a self-service buffet, and a pizzeria with a large sun deck.

Beside the spa and wellness activities, Leukerbad offers a range of winter sports. Skiers and snowboarders have access to 50 kilometres of pistes and a snowboard park.
