A quiet weekend in store for the West, some action for the Northeast and busy in the Midwest. RC

A clear and quiet weekend in store for the most of the region, minus a few rain showers in Washington and a chance of snow in the northern Rockies on Saturday. Average highs range from the upper 20's in the mountains to the mid 60's near the coast.

The bulk of the action on Friday and through the weekend centers on Michigan and the Ohio Valley. Snow in the forecast for Friday and the chance of powder through Monday. Saturday and Sunday could be a rough ride with fluctuating temps and high winds, so make sure to call ahead and check the status of your favorite resort.

Snow showers in the mix on Friday from West Virginia to Maine, with the action shifting focus to New York state and Northern New England on Saturday. Things quiet down on Sunday, but another system is due to arrive late Monday bringing the potential for heavy snow.
