After a rough start to the week, things calm down around the country today. This is welcome news for the one million without power in the South, Midwest and Northeast. RC

Midwest

Light snow in the forecast for a good portion of the region today, but nothing remotely close to the mess earlier in the week. Look for the white stuff in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and PA. Highs from the mid teens in the north to the mid 40's further south.

West

Light rain and mountain snow in Washington state and possible powder for the northern Rockies are the news in the region today. For everyone else, temps should be slightly above average and sunshine is on tap. Highs from the low 20's in the mountains to the upper 50's near the coast.

Northeast

While most of the major action has moved out, the region will see snow in the mix for New York State and a good portion of New England. A few inches of accumulation is possible and it's best to call ahead to make sure your favorite resort is open for business. Highs from the low 20's to the mid 40's.
