An ugly day in store for the Midwest, cool and quiet for the Northeast and at least one more day of good action for the West. RC
Mountain snow for the Rockies, Sierra and southern California mountains today as the streak of systems delivering the goods rolls on. Parts of Colorado, New Mexico and Utah could see nearly two feet of new powder and other areas could see nearly 6 inches. Lower elevations throughout the West will see some much needed rain. Look for highs to range from the 20's in the mountains to the low 50's along the coast.
A cool and mostly quiet day in store for the region, with the exception being the southwest portion of PA which could see light snow through mid day. Think of it as the calm before the storm, as the very nasty system that pounds the Midwest is set to enter the region early Tuesday. Highs for the region today should be in the mid 20's to mid 30's.
A very nasty system attacks the lower portions of the region today, bring a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain from Nebraska to Ohio, including the mountains of West Virginia. Please be prepared for the possibility of icy roads, closures and potential power outages. Call ahead if you plan to visit your favorite resort. Highs mid 20's to mid 30's.
