The ski area of Zell am See is offering an abundance of winter events and activities, including freestyle skiing competitions, a unique uphill race, and après-ski festivals with live Djs and firework displays.

Wednesdays are extra special for snowboarders and free skiers for about eight weeks. ‘Snowboard and Freeski Night' takes place every Wednesday between Feb. 11 and mid-March. Boarders and freeskiers gather on the piste at CityXpress to show their skills. The jumps and stunts of the snowboard and freestyle event also offer breathtaking action for spectators. The evening is accompanied by a live DJ and fireworks display.

The touring ski race ‘Aufi, Owi' returns to Zell am See Kaprun Feb.13. Anyone can enter the race, even beginners. Participants including men's, women's, or mixed teams will gather at the Schirmbar ‘Lederhosen/Schaugelberg' for the start of this unique uphill race, which begins at 6 p.m., and finishes up at the Eisbar.

The region invites holidaymakers to join a huge ‘Apres-ski festival' in the town square of Zell am See, featuring DJs and rock star look-alikes, every Tuesday until Marchkap 10. Zell am See is hosting a more traditional Folklore Evening Feb. 17. The traditions of the Salzburg province are celebrated through demonstrations of the Ribbon Dance, the Woodcutters' Dance, and the musical highlight of the glockenspiel. The doors of the Ferry Porsche Congress Center open at 8:30 p.m. The entrance fee is € 9 for adults and € 5 for children under 15.
