. All the rain during the past weeks, has come as snow in the mountains of Hemsedal, says Tourist Board Director, Gunn Eidhamar. She thinks that these conditions are the best at this early stage of the season in 3 years, and that the combination of many large snowfalls and mild weather has packet the snow to a splendid base on the entire mountain. This base will last at least until early May, and will secure another long and great skiing season in Hemsedal.

Very few ski resorts in Europe are able to provide as good conditions as Hemsedal at this moment. This has resulted in moving the coming Europian Cup race in Super-G for women from St. Moritz in Switzerland to Hemsedal next week. This week, ski teams from Slovenia, Switzerland and Norway, has been training in Hemsedal.

Norway´s alpine superstar Kjetil Andre Aamodt is returning to Hemsedal to train this weekend and next week.

Mountain Manager at Hemsedal Ski Centre, Andreas Smith-Erichsen, says that 8 slopes with 720 meter vertical drop, 7 km of prepared slopes and 7 lifts will be open from tomorrow.
