St. Moritz has been holding its White Turf International Horse Races since 1907. This firmly established tradition will take place again this year Feb. 15, and 22.
White Turf is a modern day horse race with a multitude of events that is renowned far beyond the Swiss border. International jockeys and thoroughbreds travel to St. Moritz to take part in the prestigious racing event.
Rudolf Fopp, President and CEO of the White Turf Racing Association said: "White Turf stands for sport of the highest calibre, featuring the most important horse race of the winter season. The 70th Gubelin Grand Prix of St. Moritz is announced as a European championship on snow and rates as the race with the highest prize money in Switzerland."
White Turf is regarded as one of the highlights of the St. Moritz winter season and is set against a stunning backdrop of snow-clad mountains. Besides the horse races, White Turf offers a fringe programme of musical performances, three art exhibitions, culinary delights, as well as fun and entertainment for children. The events kick off at midday on each of the consecutive Sundays.
You won't find the opportunity to mix this kind of event with your skiing and riding holiday anywhere else, so be sure and book you accommodation early.
