Pisted terrain is limited compared to larger resorts, but the whole area resembles a giant terrain park, with pistes popping over the border in the Norway as they descend before arriving back in Sweden at the bottom.

Riksgränsen has an excellent snow record thanks to its latitude (it claims more snow than anywhere else in Sweden) and has been a mecca for hardcore skiers after the main season ends in the Alps for many decades. The lifts don't start running here until February each year due to the cold and darkness through mid-winter. On the upside early arrivals do have a good chance of seeing the northern lights. Riksgränsen also has a reputation for its affordable heliskiing with a choice of 60 peaks higher than 1,200 metres in the area.

Coming events include a resort wide Midsummer night festival with partying, always popular at Riksgransen, reaching new heights from June 23rd-26th when the ski season finally ends.
