The new lift will increase capacity on the key route in to the ski area from the famous Austrian resort to 2,800 seated passengers per hour at a maximum speed of 5 metres per second, shortening the journey time to approximately 6.7 minutes for section one and 8.4 minutes for section two.

The Fimbabahn's base station building, which was built in 1998, will remain in the same location. New ticket office premises with adjoining rooms will be built to the west of the existing station building, together with a forecourt with a covered roof and open sides.

The mid-mountain station, which was built in 1983 and renovated in 1998, is being demolished right down to second basement level. The rolling stock will be housed in a hall in the first basement level of the mid-mountain station as well as in a short siding in the base station. The cable car cabins will be filled and emptied in the direction of travel.

Plans also include full floodlighting of the route because the lift is scheduled to operate in the dark as well.
