Europe's first city centre cableway of its kind, the spectacular appearance of the four city centre stations for the rail link up to the gondola is the work of London based award winning architect Zaha Hadid, whose firm has also designed the new bridge across the local river Inn, an `S'-shaped steel construction with two 34 metre high pylons.

The new rail and gondola link up the Seegrube, opening over the first weekend in December 2007, will make Innsbruck's Nordkette recreation easily accessible both in winter and in summer.
