The event will take place outdoors with acclaimed chefs and international celebrities which will take part in the S.Pellegrino Chef's Ski Cup slalom race, which will be held in the last section of the ski slope of the Gran Risa of La Villa.
The event was first conceived by Norbert Niederkofler, chef of the Restaurant St. Hubertus of the Relais & Châteaux Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano, in association with two other important wine and food restaurants of international acclaim brought together under the characteristic name Dolo"mitici": Arturo Spicocchi Chef of the Restaurant La Stüa de Michil at the Hotel La Perla in Corvara and Claudio Melis Chef of the Restaurant La Siriola at the Hotel Ciasa Salares of San Cassiano.
As with previous editions, the contest supports fundraising for The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, a foundation supported by the most important international chefs. The association was created thanks to the initiative of the great chef David Nicholls of the Mandarin Oriental High Park Hotel in London, renown for having received the Michelin star at 22 years old. This year Chris Staines, head chef of the Michelin starred restaurant Foliage at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park of London, will be in attendance.
Beyond the fundraising and the excitement itself, theChef's Cup offer three days of great food and tradition. Culinary events include a Wine tasting competition, a Pasta Party organized by the Chefs of Alta Badia with musical entertainment, Food Wine and Beer Tasting, Dinner with the top Chefs of Southern Italy, Polenta and bubbles at the Baita and a Gala dinner a the Relais & Chateaux Hotel Rosa Alpina/San Cassiano with six courses created by Dolo"mitici" and renown international Chefs (with Michelin stars), guests of the fundraising event. Open to the public, the cost of the dinner is €250,00, all of which will go to the charity.
