Summer ski runs cover up to 18km (12 miles) of piste and there are additional terrain features including the BetterPark which has a full range of jumps and other hits.
The Hintertux glacier is the only year-round ski area remaining in Austria and attracts most national teams for summer training. Modern high speed lifts reach skiing up at 3,250m.
As usual there is a full programme of events throughout the summer, as well as many additional open air music concerts and other festivities. A special week from the 28th June to 5th July is intended to reward any of the 20,000 regular guests who have registered with the tourist board as repeat visitors. This celebration is staged only once every four years.
Other highlights are the Third Tuxer Beer Festival from 14th to 16th August and on 24th August the Zillertal Wood Chopping Championships.
Various inclusive package deals are available through the tourist office from 129 Euros for seven nights in a four person appartment, or from 390 Euros per person for half board vin a four star hotel. Packages include free use of mountain lifts, public transport and access to all outdoor pools in the Ziller Valley.
