Folgefonn is one of three summer ski areas in Norway, and boasts the country's longest glacier lift, at 1.2km in length. A bus operates to the slopes from the local town of Jondal which offers a wide range of facilities and accommodation, along with 50km of beaches for swimming, fishing and boating.

The ski area has an incredible snow record and currently has eight metres (27 feet) of snow depth and the resort had to dig out the restaurant and ski rental shop in order to open.

Events during the season include the popular Folgefonna Ski and Snowboard Camp that takes place in the last week of June and the first week of July attracting many well known skiers and snowboarders to compete.
