As of Saturday 20 December at 9am, skiers will once again be able to take the Vanoise Express to cross the valley separating the massifs of Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne, in just 4 minutes and at a height of 380 m. In winter, over 400,000 users board the Vanoise Express to ski throughout Paradiski. This ultra-modern cable car, which is equipped with two panoramic double-decker gondolas, each with room for 200 people, is the only one of its kind in the world. Each gondola can travel independently thanks to two separate sets of cables. Its capacity is 2,000 passengers per hours in each direction.
To mark the opening of Paradiski, throughout the day on 20 December the lift operators (SAP and SMA) will be granting free Paradiski extensions to all holders of a valid ski pass for la Plagne or les Arcs/Peisey Vallandry. To receive the extension, they will just need to show a valid day pass, multi-day pass or season pass at the tills. The ESF's instructors will be on hand to guide skiers around a Paradiski itinerary. Several courses will be available for skiers of different ability. This will allow them to discover the various hotspots and all the unmissable parts of the ski area. And, after a day of exertion, some relaxation will be in order: skiers will be able to meet up near the Vanoise Express for wine, hot chocolate, aperitifs and traditional culinary delights.
The ski areas of Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne are currently enjoying exceptional snow cover even at this early stage of the season, and practically all of the 425km (327 miles) of pistes are accessible.
