Savings In Jungfrau For James Bond Fans

Murren Murren

At A Glance

Where: Jungfrau, Switzerland

When: Apr 1, 2009

Cost: The package can be provided as a gift voucher for a loved one and costs 92 Euros or 147 Swiss Francs

The beautiful Jungfrau district of Switzerland, which includes the spectacular Eiger peaks, has put together a new overnight package for James Bond fans - offering a discounted rate on the cost if the various elements were purchased separately.

Mürren has a special place in James Bond movie history as much of the 1971 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, featuring George Lazenby as the second James Bond, was filmed here.

Indeed scouts for the movie identified the Piz Gloria restaurant, then under construction, as the ideal lair of the film's evil mastermind. It was a lucky break for Mürren which had run out of funds to complete the restaurant project, but then was able to do so thanks to a donation from the film company once their filming was complete.

The James Bond package includes an overnight stay in a quality hotel in Mürren where you will have dinner and an excursion to the Schilthorn mountain where the restaurant slowly revolve. Your excursion to Schilthorn-Piz Gloria takes place first thing and includes breakfast, departing from Mürren before 9 a.m. There is also an excursion to Allmendhubel with cake and coffee and free entrance to the indoor swimming pool Mürren.

The package can be provided as a gift voucher for a loved one and costs 92 Euros or 147 Swiss Francs and could be an ideal addition to a ski holiday stay in the Jungfrau, especially if based in one of the neighbouring resorts such as Interlaken, Wengen, or Grindelwald.
