Big Sky Resort launches their Sunset Saturdays, a celebration of increasing hours of daylight in spring. Sunset Saturdays will extend the hours of operation on Saturdays beginning Mar. 14 through the remainder of the season.
Sunset Saturdays add one more hour of ski time on to the end of the day, running some lifts until 5 p.m. Big Sky will operate the Ramcharger lift for the additional hour and also will keep the terrain on the front side of Andesite open. All season passes and day tickets are good for the extra hour of skiing or snowboarding on those days.
A party with live music in the plaza Mar. 14 will launch the event. "March has excellent snow conditions so we decided to kick it up a notch and let guests take advantage of the sunshine." said Dax Schieffer, Director of Public Relations. "Why not throw a party and let the people ride an extra hour and soak up the sun."
Families can enjoy the extended daylight in the Family Fun Zone until 8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The fun zone contains a magic carpet-served tubing hill and a small terrain park with kickers, boxes, and rails. Tickets cost $10 for kids 10 years old and under; tickets are $15 for teens and adults.
Big Sky plans to run its lifts through Apr. 12 this season.
