Saas Fee which re-opened for snowsports two weeks ago had to cancel the The Saas-Fee Ride 11 summer Freeski competition they had planned. It has received more than a foot (31cm) of fresh snow in the past week
"The glacier had winter like conditions and there was powder snow on the Allalin Snowpark in Saas-Fee." said a resort statement, "This weekend's competition could not be completed due to poor visibility with the snow storms."
Elsewhere in the Alps Solden, although not currently open for snowsports, generated a rare www.Skiinfo.co.uk July "powder alarm" when it received more than 20cm of fresh snow in 24 hours.
The Mölltaler glacier has had 20cm of new snow while Tignes reported 15cm. in Italy Passo Stelvio reported 10 cm and Val Senales 5cm.
