In Quebec Stoneham Mountain Resort will open for night skiing this Friday, November 25 at 4pm and Mont-Sainte-Anne will start operating this Saturday, November 2.
Mont-Sainte-Anne will be open seven days a week from the start, whereas Stoneham will be closed next week, to re-open on December 2, and from then will be open seven days and seven nights a week.
" The weather forecast announced for the next few days allows our operations team to confirm the opening of both resorts for this week-end!! " said an excited spokesperson for the sister resorts.
At Mont-Sainte-Anne, skiers and riders will enjoy two trails on the North Side and beginners will have access to the school slope at the base, with the magic carpet lift running.
At Stoneham, trail #2 will be open in addition to a small snow park at the base, to please freestyle lovers.
In New York state, south of the border, Whiteface Mountain will also open this Friday, November 25th for the season.
"Our snowmaking crews have been working around the clock pounding the mountain with the fluffy white stuff and Mother Nature did her part by sending us a snow storm that has deposited 14 inches so far. The anticipated open terrain for this weekend is Upper Valley, Lower Valley and Fox with sunshine in the forecast for Friday and Saturday after all the snowfall," said a resort statement.
The resort joins many other New England resorts that are already open (like Killington and Sunday River) or opening in the next few days.
