On the West coast at Nevis Range recent snowfall has greatly improved conditions with lots of fresh snow in deep drifts. Beginner ski lifts were open today (Tues) however as weather conditions are forecast to be windy on Wednesday all upper ski lifts, which are heavily iced, are still tied down to prevent derails. Lots more snow forecast overnight and wind speeds and forecast looking better from Thursday.

A statement from Glencoe said, "Conditions on the mountain are much improved and we expect when the wind dies down to have most runs and lifts open."

On the east Cairngorm above Aviemore hope to open the funicular and snowsports area tomorrow (Wednesday 4th January) at 9:30, first train up at 10:00. All runs and uplift will need to be assessed in the morning.

At Glenshee the ongoing snow is filling in the runs some of which are now complete with good cover of pisted fresh snow and there are ample nursery areas.

The Lecht is also looking very white although today the access road is closed on both sides and the hill is stormbound.
