It's been shown women have a tendency to improve their skiing and/or snowboarding skills when they receive instruction in an encouraging all-female group environment.
Northstar is offering such an atmosphere for bettering on-mountain skills with its series of three-day Girlfriend Getaway clinics this season.
These all-inclusive camps feature courses focused on health, wellness, camaraderie, and getting down the hill in a more efficient and fun manner. Activities include yoga classes, video analysis, the use of demo gear, and lessons/clinics conducted by Northstar's coterie of female instructors.
Cost of the camps, which will take place Feb. 27-March 1 and March 27-28 for skiers and March 6-8 and March 27-29 for snowboarders, is $499 for season pass-holders and $599 for those who need lift tickets. Campers get daily breakfasts and après drinks and appetizers with the price of admission.
For those in need of lodging, Northstar has a Girlfriend Getaway package starting at $775 (based on quad occupancy in a two-bedroom, two-bath condo) that includes the aforementioned clinics as well as such perks as priority lift lines, overnight ski or snowboard storage, complimentary ice skates and skating at the Village rink, use of the outdoor spas and fitness center, and high-speed Internet access.
