Revelstoke Mountain Resort runs a program every Friday throughout the season just for women. It targets any level of skier or snowboarder above the age of 19. You can drop in for one Friday or buy a package for multiple Fridays.
"The women spend a day with our pros," Snow School Manager Dan Sculnick told OnTheSnow.com. "We offer them a private lesson within a group setting of all women and an opportunity to pamper themselves for a nice sit down lunch."
The program, taught by both male and female pros, runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It includes a specialty lunch such as a pasta bowl or wrap, a glass of wine, and dessert. Group sizes are small, ranging 4-6 women. Each week also includes functional prizes that you can use right away on the ski hill. All participants during the season are entered into a drawing for a pair of skis at end of season.
"We went to a full day program to offer each lady a lot more individual time with the pro," said Sculnick. "Smaller groups with more time let the pro develop a relationship with each individual to learn about the learning style of each individual and then cater to that learning style. It's a very student-centered approach."
One day of the program costs $ 64. Four days costs $ 228. Sculnick adds that those who like one-day program can upgrade to four days less the cost of the first day. The program runs every day throughout the season from mid-December through mid-April.
"At the heart of it all, it's about fun," said Sculnick. "The ability to get away from work and kids and take a mini vacation is important."
