Yesterday's Midwest clipper shows its fangs in the Northeast today, things aren't quite over in the Midwest and more spring like weather for the West. RC

The quick moving clipper that pounded the Midwest makes its way into the region today in a hurry, bringing up to 6 inches of powder to New York state and spreading into southern New England as the day rolls on. Areas south and southeast of Lake Erie will be under a lake effect snow warning and travel could become difficult. High wind gusts are also possible throughout the day. Highs from the single digits in northern New England to the mid 30's further south.

Outside of the Northern Rockies and Pac West valleys, it feels like early spring throughout the region. Very odd weather for this time of year, with temps in the mid 60's to the mid 70's for many. Best to call ahead if your plans included hitting the slopes. Highs into the mid teens and low 20's for most mountain elevations.

The theme: very cold and windy today. The Midwest is feeling some of the coldest weather ever and the trend is set to continue. Lake effect snow in the forecast for Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, but the real story is the temps; highs only up to 10 below in northern Minnesota and the mid 20's as far south and Kansas. Please bundle up if you have to venture out and call ahead for resort conditions before you visit.
