Powderhorn Resort is a cozy little place, perched high up on Grand Mesa a few miles southeast of Grand Junction.

It's got 1,600 skiable acres - 600 of which are groomed - a respectable vertical drop of 1,650 feet and four lifts, one of which is of the surface variety. There are tree runs and glades and terrain parks and wide corduroy boulevards for skiers and snowboarders of any and all abilities on which to cavort.

All of this comes at a pretty convenient price - the daily tariff for an adult lift ticket is $53; it's $43 for the younger (7-18 years old) and older (60-69) sets.

But if you show up Monday through Friday with a spouse, friend, significant other, or casual acquaintance you can get an even better deal with Powderhorn's "Buddy, Burger, Beverage" promotion.

This online-only deal is $120, and you get a pair of lift tickets, a couple of hamburgers at the Sunset Grille and Bar, and two age-appropriate beverages (i.e., draft beer or house wine for those over 21, sodas for those under) in return for your cash.

The Buddy, Burger, Beverage deal is "the perfect package for the perfect day," as the folks at Powderhorn like to say.
