Saas Fee has a number of specially themed ski weeks available this winter.
Guests can choose between packages which are available on a modular basis and have themes including "Journey through time in the glacier village" or a "Torchlit hike" or the "Wine Tour."
The basic package consists of overnight stays in hotels or classified holiday apartments including a ski-pass. The activity programs endeavour to give the resort's guests an insight into the culture and history of the Valais on top of a classic ski holiday.
This package can be booked throughout the winter at bargain prices with short stay packages from two days on request.
A typical example of a week long package includes seven night stays in a hotel with half board or bed and breakfast (double room) or seven night stays in an apartment (without meals); a six day ski pass and participation in one of the activity programmes mentioned.
Prices start from 767 Swiss Francs/Euro 495 to stay in a hotel on half board or from 441 Swiss Francs/Euro 285 to stay in an apartment instead.
A big attraction at the top of the slopesis the 5.500m3 large ice pavilion on the Mittelallalin (3.500 m a.s.l.), above Saas-Fee. It is not only the largest ice pavilion in the world, but also has a new exhibition which is organized by the Saas-Fee cableways corporation. A the picture gallery of ice impressively illustrates Saas-Fee/Saastal between 1800 and 2007. There's also a drmatis crevasse rescue and secrets of the glacier are exposed.
