More action in store for the Northwest, a mixed bag for the Northeast and a well deserved break for the Midwest. RC
The rough stuff continues for the Pac Northwest today, with heavy snow in the forecast for the Olympic, Cascade and Northern Rockies mountain ranges. While most areas will see 4 to 6 inches, some higher elevations could see another foot of snow. While far northern California could see snow, areas to the south (all the way to central CA) have a rainy Monday in store. High wind warnings are posted for the mountain areas throughout the West today and could cause white out conditions. If you're planning to head to a resort, please call ahead for conditions. Highs tomorrow from the mid teens in the mountains to the mid 50's at the coast.
A wintry mix of freezing rain and snow showers hang around northern New England this morning with rain showers in the forecast throughout the day for areas south including the Virginias. Winds will also be up today, making Monday feel even cooler. By all accounts, this could be considered a "day off" for the region, as things are set to get ugly again tomorrow with rain/sleet and snow all in the forecast. Highs today upper 20's for northern New England to the mid 50's further south.
This week starts off quiet for the region, with only a slight chance of snow for parts northern Wisconsin and Michigan. While things stay on the chilly side, they also stay pretty dry. Highs from the single digits in the northern regions to the mid 40's further south.
