Children born in 1997 or later (aged 12 and under) can ski and stay (in their parents' bedroom), free of charge from 21 March to 26 April.
The offer is available when at least one parent books a stay and purchases a Montafon ski pass for five days or more over the same period. The offer may not include meals (depending on the accommodation provider).
Families who take up this offer will be given a voucher by accommodation providers taking part in the promotion, which can be exchanged for a free ski pass at the Lift Company's ticket offices.
The hotels and other establishments participating in the scheme are marked with a smiley face symbol in the online Montafon Accommodation guide.
Montafon is made up of half a dozen ski areas in the Vorarlberg region, more than 200km (125 miles) of piste served by more than 60 lifts and so inspired Ernest Hemingway in the middle of the 1920s that he spent two successive winters here.
The area offers a rail access service under the slogan "Don't get stressed going by car, holiday from the first day to the last," with ÖBB (Austrian Railways) offering the Wedelweiss-InklusivTicket.
With this ticket one books one's rail journey, transfer to/from one's accommodation and, if desired, a three- or six-day ski pass all in one package - and that at a very favourable price.
The Wedelweiss-InklusivTicket can be obtained in Austria at all travel bureaux and railway stations.
