The Oregon Cancer Ski Out, which for the past two decades has raised funds for the likes of the Oregon Health and Science University's Cancer Institute, the Willamette Falls Hospice, and other cancer awareness and advocacy groups, will celebrate its 21st anniversary at Mt. Hood Meadows March 1.

Among the fund raising activities are the five-member team races ($1,000 per team entry fee gets you race entry, two day/night lift passes, meals, evening gala and other swag; better be quick, though, the deadline is Feb. 13), the Western-themed Cowboy Up Cancer Party (includes buffet dinner, dance and black jack and craps tables), a spontaneous auction, and the Bucks to Buck Cancer (people are simply asked to get five friends or neighbors or family members to each donate $25 for the cause; 100 percent of the money raised goes to the Oregon Cancer Ski Out beneficiaries).

Those partaking in the Oregon Cancer Ski Out also can take advantage of a great rate the Best Western Hood River Inn is offering: $60 per night. To make reservations call 800-828-7873 and identify yourself as a Ski Out participant.

Mt. Hood Meadows offers 85 runs, 11 lifts, 5 high-speed quads, and 6 doubles.
