Cranmore Mountain, Pats Peak, Waterville Valley and Wildcat offers are among the best - take a series of lessons and wind up with season passes to the areas - but are not the only deals at New Hampshire areas. The four resorts are offering the specials through the season, and like other New Hampshire areas have January offers as well.

Ragged Mountain has a two-for $59 lesson/rental/lift ticket special through Jan. 31.

Bretton Woods has a-Learn With a Friend deal: $75 each, and both receive a voucher for a lift ticket/rental package.

Cranmore offers a family lesson plan: $300 for up to four people, $75 each additional. Includes lesson, rental and lift.

Balsams Wilderness has an $80 first-time lesson package.

Black Mountain has a $79 package. Cannon Mountain: $60. Crotched Mountain: $69. Dartmouth Skiway: $60. Granite Gorge: $50. Gunstock Mountain Resort: $180 for three-day package.

Jackson XC: $10 for Easy Sliders intro to cross-country skiing. Also, $189 for Get 4 and Go four-day lesson package and, at the end, a season trails pass.

King Pine: $66 adults, $53 ages 6-12, $37 ages 4-5 for intro lesson package. Also, Master the Mountain, three session package, $158 for adults, $134 for children.

Loon Mountain: $135.

McIntyre Ski Area: $49.

Mount Sunapee: $80 for two one-day Get Into Skiing/Snowboarding Packages.

Pats Peak: $68.

Waterville Valley: $380 for up to four family members, and $75 for each additional.

Wildcat Mountain: $219 for the First Tracks Pass Program, lift, rentals and four lessons. Those who complete all four lessons receive a Wildcat Mountain season pass valid for the remainder of the 2008/09 season.

Cranmore: Three Then Free - Take three beginner or intermediate group lessons and receive a free season pass for the rest of the winter (ages 13+).

Waterville and Pats Peak: Passport Program. Beginner skiers or snowboarders take lessons for four days and receive a season pass for the rest of the season to Pats Peak and Waterville Valley.
