Women's Edventures is a Big Bear Lake-based organization that helps women celebrate themselves through enriching outdoor activities, workshops, and clinics. WE believes that "our workshops and clinics will, by design, help women overcome the fear of advancing to the next level and will provide a new outlook on life's challenges."
Although Women's Edventures has a variety of outdoor pursuits - including kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and mountain travel - skiing and snowboarding is where it likes to center itself. WE is offering a series of two-day skiing clinics designed for women - at Homewood on the banks of Lake Tahoe and at Bear Mountain Resort on the shores of Big Bear Lake - that provide great lake views, great riding, and "just the right trails to challenge you."
Among the tenets fostered by WE clinics are having fun, keeping groups small to facilitate individual attention, raising skill levels, sharing knowledge, and incorporating the proper attitude. There are clinics for riders of every ability, and each clinic is led by women who are certified instructors.
There are four two-day clinics at each resort - Homewood has theirs Feb. 5-6 and 7-8 and March 5-6 and 7-8, and Bear Mountain will conduct theirs Jan. 29-30, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, Feb. 26-27, and Feb. 28-March 1 . The sessions cost $269 each. The fee covers two-day lift pass, five hours of instruction per day, video analysis, breakfast, lunch and snacks, a goody bag, and a raffle.
