South Shore visitors who wish to head north to sample the snowfields of Squaw Valley have a unique and stress-free method of getting there - via bus and boat.
Lake Tahoe Cruises, which operates a small fleet of excursion boats on the Big Blue, once again has hooked up with Squaw to show skiers, snowboarders, and other winter tourists a really good - and unusual - time.
The morning trip to the North Lake area from various South Shore lodging properties locations is via luxury coach, complete with continental breakfast en route, and passengers can expect to arrive at Squaw Valley around 9:30 a.m.
The return trip in the afternoon is aboard the Tahoe Queen, Big Blue's sole authentic paddle-wheel boat and the world's only water-borne ski shuttle. Once on the boat skiers and boarders can relax with an apres-ski party that includes live music, courtesy of the Steve Walker Band, drink specials, and munchies.
The cost of Aqua Ski Shuttle is $117 per person ($64 for non-skiers and non-boarders), and the price includes bus shuttles, lift ticket, and return boat passage; for an extra 50 bucks, you can have dinner while you steam back to South Lake Tahoe.
