A nasty day in store for the Midwest, another round of snow and rain for the West and a very short break in the action for the Northeast. RC
West
More snow in store this morning for the southern Rockies, including Arizona and New Mexico. Totals could be near a foot. As this system moves east, yet another system arrives in the west tonight bring snow to the southern Oregon, northern California and Nevada mountains. Look for highs from the mid teens to the mid 20's in the mountain areas.
Northeast
The region gets a much needed break today, but the chilly temps will stick around. This break looks to be a short one though, as the system that pounded the Midwest makes its way in. This system could bring a serious rain/sleet/ice mix with it, making travel very dangerous through Wednesday. Most of the snow action stays in northern New England. Temps mid teens to the mid 30's.
Midwest
The beating for the Midwest continues with a mix of snow/sleet and freezing rain on the move Tuesday. Light snow is in the forecast for northern Illinois, while travel warnings for ice and sleet will be in effect for most of Kansas and Missouri. By evening, these warnings will also be in effect for central Illinois, central Indiana, northern Ohio and southern Michigan.
