Angel Fire's 120-room hotel, which sits adjacent to the Chile Express Chairlift, is getting a major facelift inside and out. The 18-month project starts with an upscaled guest arrival entrance and lobby area, an expanded fitness center, and a re-done hot tub grotto for this winter's guests. Guests also can swim in the indoor pool, soak in the hot tub, or sweat in a spinning class. Wireless internet will be available in the lobby and common areas until rooms undergo renovation for next winter. Four spacious "showcase" hotel rooms provide a preview for guests to look at the four styles of remodeled rooms. Final plans include refurbished parking areas and group meeting facilities. All rooms currently include amenities such as a coffee maker, refrigerator, and pay-per-view TV with Nintendo. The completed hotel will blend architecturally with the new Angel Fire Resort Country Club facility, currently under construction. It will be one of the largest in the Southwest when it's completed. "It's a pretty ambitious plan," said David Dekema, Director of Marketing. "It's great to be underway with it."
