British Columbia's Mount Seymour added a new way to get to the resort with a smaller carbon footprint. A new bus service started up to convey riders from three Vancouver communities to the ski hill.

Sea West Coachlines Ltd. is running the new shuttle service to the resort on weekends. The service shuttles skiers and snowboarders from Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, and Burnaby straight to the slopes, with the duration of the ride varying from one to two hours.

The "Over the Bridge" service begins running on Saturdays and Sundays starting Jan. 10. It will continue through the resort's closing day. The bus makes four stops to pick up passengers in the morning, beginning at 8 a.m. It arrives at Mountain Seymour at 10 a.m. and departs from the resort at 4:30 p.m.

The new service cost $12 for one way or $20 for round trip. Call 604-290-3800 for departure times and locations.

Seymour also has a shuttle bus running from the A & W at Parkgate Mall. You can check on its schedule by calling the 24-hour Snow Phone at 604-986-2261. The half-hour ride costs $5. You also can get reduced bus fees by buying a book of 10 for $40.
