The luxurious four-star Ansitz Jakoberhof in St Ulrich, Val Gardena has announced a special package deal up to Valentine's Day next year.
The offer, dubbed, "Snow, Sun And Fun In The Heart Of The Dolomites" is valid for the week from 7th to 14th February, 2009. The fee of 630 Euros per person covers a week in one of the hotel's standard double rooms including half board. The package includes bathrobes in your room and unlimited access to the hotel's luxurious wellness area.
St Ulrich is largest of the three villages in the Gardena Valley which now market themselves together as Val Gardena. Best known is its neighbour Selva, officially titled Selva Gardena although, in common with most villages in the formerly Austrian and strongly Germanic South Tyrol area of northern Italy, it also has a German name 'Wolkenstein', although this is rarely used (except in marketing to Germanic nations).
The two villages, along with Santa Cristina, are lift-linked to more than 500km (320 miles) of skiing through the Sella Ronda connection, the world's second largest, which sees other valleys besides Gardena radiating out from the central 23km (15 mile) circuit around the Sella Massif.
All of the skiing is included on a single lift pass - Dolomiti Superski - which covers 1200km (750 miles) of terrain in total, all on the single hands free lift tickets. That includes skiing in 12 valleys in the area, including world famous Cortina d'Ampezzo, a bus ride away.
