Attempting to master a new sport can be a daunting endeavor, but Diamond Peak is helping to take some of the edge off with its Girls Learn to Ride weekend March 1-2. Young women between the ages of 7 and 16 get two days of basic snowboarding and park riding skill, the use of a Burton board, two lunches, a video of the proceedings, and a Sunday afternoon graduation event and awards ceremony for $229. All GLTR campers will be taught basic snowboard skills by a female instructor in a supportive atmosphere. Log on to girlslearntoride.com for detailed information or to register.
