The eight resorts of the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena ski area celebrated the new winter season with a series of events, on and off the piste.

The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena ski area enjoyed a party atmosphere with live concerts, taster ski courses, and races Dec. 11 -14. Highlights included the Gaudirace (fun race) at the fun park for adrenaline junkies and a lively après ski party with Olaf Henning at the base station of the Grubigsteinbahn mountain railway.

The winter season kicked off Dec. 13 in the Seefeld Olympic Region, with the huge ski party at the Rosshütte mountain hut and a cross-country event around the village of Leutasch.

Highlights of the opening party included DJ Alex Weber and music from the ORF Jukebox and singer Gilbert. The 10th Sport Wedl Cross-country Opening took place between Dec. 12 -14, featuring day courses, including video analysis, for novices and advanced cross-country skiers will be offered under the guidance of national champions.

The Seefeld Olympic Region is known for its idyllic alpine scenery and 266 kilometres of some of Austria's most impressive cross country ski trails. Ski runs here are suitable for all levels; beginners can practise on the wide gentle slopes while experts take to the challenging Seefelderjoch runs.

The Zugspitz Arena offers 152 kilometres of ski runs connected by 52 lifts.
